Abstract:The morphological structure of the nitrite rubber (NBR) / chlorosulphonated polyethylene (CSM) blends was investigated by transmission electron microscopy and found that the phase invasion in blends occured at the mass ratio of NBR/ CSM was about 60/ 40. The effects of the blend ratio, curing system and reinforcing system on the properties of NBR/ CSM blends were studied. The results showed that the blends by masterbatching method had better properties than that by mixing method. The tensile strength and300% modulus of the NBR/ CSM (70/30 mass ratio) blends increased with increasing the amount of dibenzothiazol disulfide and tetramethylthiuram disulfide, while the elongation at break decreased. There was no significant improvements in the blend properties by the adittion of dicumyl peroxide.
