Application of Self-hardening Resin Sand to Ductile Iron Cooling Stave Casting

The paper analyzes the characteristic of the casting process of self-hardening resin sand. On basis of original clay sand casting process, advanced self-hardening sand technique is adopted to cast and produce cooling staves and the process parameters of critical processes are optimized such as wood mould fabrication and sand dosing, shaping and casting. The dimension precision and external quality of cooling stave are substantially improved and the operation requirements of blast furnace met.
