VOD on LAN的网络协议性能分析

目前,人们对在IP网络上VOD业务的需求与日俱增,在LAN上实现中小型VOD系统的技术也日益成熟。在网络传送协议方面,许多观点认为,TCP协议不适合于实时的视频数据传送,而是采用了UDP来实现数据传送。中心在以太网上开发了一个VOD系统,在网络传送协议方面采用了TCP来实现。并在此基础上对系统的各项性能进行了测试及分析,该文就两种协议在网络性能方面进行了比较,并对网络时延、流量控制、丢包重传等方面进行了探讨。

Performance Analysis for the Network Protocol of the VOD on LAN

With the increasing of the need for VOD service on IP Network,many technologies about VOD on LAN have come into being.Lots of researchers claim that TCP protocol is unsuitable for this kind of service,and prefer UDP rather than the previous.On the fundament of the EtherNet,a VOD system using TCP is developed.After relational tests and analysis,it is confident for us that TCP is feasible.This paper addresses the problem of the difference between the two protocol,from the aspect of network,transmite delay,traffic control,retransmition and etc.
