Revisiting the Important Role the French School Plays in Comparative Literature

Confronting the claim that“ the French School is neither one of the key comparative literary schools nor one of the authentic ones,” the present paper tackles the Comparative Literary history, to delve into the origin for both the French School and the American School, only to find that both of them are two indispensable periods in a continuum of Comparative Literary history, providing approaches necessary to Comparative Literature, and that the value of the former, being long neglected, should be reemphasized -especially nowadays when the Comparative Literature is one more on the verge of a new challenge.
