The paper described the writers expcricace in adopting top-down method as construction technology in a 3rd contract section project of One-stage of DuHui-ShouZan. And this construction technology was proved to be safe, reliable, quick constructional and practical operational. In the constructing, the characteristics presented such advantages as anti-slide pile on the first step, constructed retaining board formed of channel steel and bamboo springboard on the second step, smooth earthwork of slope with layer-by-layer on the third step. The main structure of retaining wall was finallyperformed. Top-down method was proved to be safe, reliale, quick constructional and practical operational which was demonstrated by the construction tests, and achieved the anticipated effects of the initial designs.
