Discussion on the rational allocation of water resources based on main function area in Chongqing city

The main function area is the basis for social and economic layout and development, meanwhile the main function area is restricted with resource and environment carrying capacity. Water resource is strategic resource, and is irreplaceable foundation to support economic and social development of main function area, to meet regional development needs in quantity and quality. Taking Chongqing city as an example in the paper, from the viewpoint of water resources, combined with the full implementation of the most strict water resources management system, meeting the demand of ＂three red lines＂, the paper discusses how to promote the coordination between the limited regional water resource and the main function area of Chongqing city, through the rational allocation of water resources, to support the healthy, rapid, sustainable development in Chongqing city.
