文章通过对“意境”的“化境”切入,阐明空间边界如何被相关生死的时间恐惧所确定,继而探讨时间如何为空间制定标准,在对中西方文化对“物我”边界的差异认识的展开里,文章试图厘清中国园林与建筑难以被西方建筑学同化的差异部分。

Reaching the Acme of Perfection The First of the Eight Chapters on Perfection

Starting from the perfection of artistic mood, this paper explains that spatia boundary is limited by fear of time with respect to birth and death, so that time sets standard for space. Based on different understandings of object/subject relation between Chinese and Westerners, the author wishes to explore the independent parts of Chinese garden and architecture which could not be assimilated by architectural concept of Westerners.
