Abstract:The three-stage ground distance protection is generally configured in 220 kV transmission line protection program.With the development of power grids,the structure is increasingly complex.The main transformer of the next substation under different operation mode may cause the distance protection scope too large or the protection low sensitivity,and the difficult cooperation between the higher and the lower-level protection.By taking Chengde 220 kV Zhou-chao transmission line and 220 kV substation of Chaohe as an example,some existing problems in setting calculation were analyzed and discussed in this paper.The cooperation principle of setting was adjusted and the program that the 145 bus-tie breaker in the middle voltage side of the main transformer delayed 0.3 s for tripping to split operation was put forward.The system short-circuit impedance was increased to make the coordination between upper protection and lower protection more reasonable,and the line operation reliability was improved.
