Research on future power system equipment

Abstract:Electric power system is in the early stage, which is developed from the second genera- tion to the third generation, and the conception design and technical research of future power sys- tem are developing. This paper summarizes the history of power system and concludes the three generation features. The changes of external (actors are considered, such as, energy develop- ment, environmental protection, and market requirements. It is necessary to estimate power sys- tem development trend, which is based on the hot spot of current power system technology. Three key technologies (distributed power generation technology, large scale energy storage technology and superconducting power technology) are extracted, they may cause the revolution- ary change of power system. The future grid equipment function framework is discussed and the new grid equipment form is analyzed with the key technologies obtaining a breakthrough.
