| Abstract: | Without evaluating the port terminations, it is shown that the maximum power gain of an absolutely stable active 2-port is realisable with conjugate-matching source and load immittances. Expressions for these optimum terminations and associated gain are obtained from a simple application of the well known image-parameter theory. |
