| Abstract: | The engineering geological and hydrogeological conditions around the tunnel and in front of working face are significantly related to a tunnel construction both in quality and security. The ground penetrating radar （GPR） is a geophysical method using high-frequency wideband electromagnetic to detect the distribution of subterranean medium. Because of its high precision, high efficiency, Simple operation, nondestructive testing, GPR is applicable to advanced geological prediction in tunnel. The objective of this study was to examine that the ground penetrating radar is a better method of advanced geological prediction in tunnel construction, base on a comparison between the design and forecasting results and exposed actual conditions. |
