Unitized concept for earthquake-resistant nuclear power plants

This paper discusses a unitized concept for an earthquake-resistant nuclear power plant which can withstand major earthquake shaking and fault slips without releasing radioactive material into the atmosphere. A 1000 MWe pressurized water reactor power plant of recent design is adapted to a unitized concept, and cost studies are made for the incremental cost.
