RECONSIDERATION OF CORUNDUM, RUBY AND SAPPHIRE

In order to make better understanding of the most precious stone ruby in colored gemstones and sapphire that is called as imperial stone, the ore mineralogy, mineral resource distribution and exploitation history of ruby and sapphire (corundum) are briefly reviewed in the paper.
