| Abstract: | Abstract A Fibonacci search technique is used in conjunction with a rigorous mullicomponenl distillaiion computer module to find the optimal feed location within a section of a distillation column. The function lo be minimized can be one of the following: ?key component ratio difference ?reflux ratio or reboiler ratio ?condenser duty or reboiler duty This technique has been used successfully in the relocation of feed stages of many existing distillation columns and thus saved energy consumption. We shall describe this technique with a sample problem. |
