Abstract:Research on the unsaturated properties of deep-pit is very important to decrease the construction cost,because that the soils are unsaturated in many case.It is well unknown that soil matric suction is an essential stress variable that influences the shear strength of unsaturated soil and consequently slope stability.In this contribution,the characterization of the unsaturated soil in HanDan JinShiJi deep pit is achieved by using the proposed equipments for SWCC.The SWCCs for every layer are compared.Finally,the unsaturated soil shear strength is investigated by the proposed simplified equation.
