Power Electronic Converters for Variable Speed Wind Turbines

The incorporation of a variable speed function into a wind turbine has a variety of benefits,however the electrical power generated by a variable speed wind generator can't be directly used, which must construst a power electronic converter between the generator and the grid. This paper presents several different power converter topologies in variable speed wind generation systems. Finally, this paper presents other applications for the technology and developments.
