| Abstract: | A summary of the research on local scour around bridge piers at home and abroad is given.Formulae for non-clay local scour around bridge piers in the unidirectional flow are provided.Codes for local scour around bridge piers from China,the former USSR,and the United States are compared with each other.The progress of research on local scour around bridge piers in clay soil subjected to tidal currents is described. |
