Wavelet coding method using small block DCT |

| Abstract: | A novel wavelet image compression method is introduced. The method applies the small block discrete cosine transform to certain parts of the wavelet coefficients before quantisation and coding. Experiments show that the new method achieves good results with only a negligible increase in total complexity |
