Abstract:The properties of corundum-mullite-zirconia grogs made by reaction-sintering process and their carbon-bonded materials have been investigated. It is showm that corundum-mullite-zirconia grogs exhibit lower sintering temperature as well as better thermal shock resistance and corrosion resistance. The alumina-zirconia-carbon slide plate made from these grogs possess good high-temperature properties and may have prospects for applications in continuous casting.
