The lay judge system was formally introduced into criminal justice of Japan in 2009.However,its implementation incurred the criticism from both the legal practitioners and the common people.The major contributing factor is the problems existing in the system,whose implementation may affect the stability of Japan＇s criminal justice system,and will bring about new unfairness while increasing the burden on the people.Therefore,the actual situations of a nation must be considered when formulating laws,and preparations must be made before the laws are put into force.
