| Abstract: | The technology of smart antennas for mobile communications has received enormous interest worldwide in recent years.This article is to give an overview of the technology and of the different ways in which it is foreseen to influence mobile communications systems.A discussion of implementing smart antennas for the base stations is given. Finally,in the domain of personal and mobile communications, an evolution can be foreseen in the utilization of smart antennas toward gradually more advanced solutions. |
