| Abstract: | Based on the practical condition of Chinese electric power systems, and a historical review of surge arrester selection reflected in the new edition of the surge arrester national standard, the article puts forward a method of zinc oxide surge arrester selection for installations of shunt capacitors. The proposed method is of referential value for design of shunt capacitor installations in electric power substations. |
