Abstract: | Examined psychology board examining practices based on responses received from 28 statutory and 11 nonstatutory certification states. Examining practices varied widely among states. The modal pattern included an objective examination, an essay exam, and an interview. When 1 of the 3 modalities is omitted, it was more likely to be the essay than the interview (although interviews may be optional). Time limits on the American Association of State Psychology Boards exam ranged from 2 hrs to no limit and were less variable than were those for essay exams. Implications of this diversity for reciprocal professional certification need to be explored. (0 ref) (PsycINFO Database Record (c) 2010 APA, all rights reserved) |
