略论明代泇河开凿及其对徐州地方社会的影响

明代中后期,由于频繁的徐州黄河水患对南北漕运的严重威胁,明代政府决定开挖新运道以达到避黄保运的目的。在开挖的南阳新河、泇河等几条新河中,以泇河的开凿最为重要,对徐州农业生产、城市地位、商品经济、社会秩序等的影响也最为显著。泇河的开凿在一定程度上成为明清时期徐州城市发展兴衰的转折点。

A Brief Discussion of the Digging of Jia River in the Ming Dynasty and Its Impact on the Local Place of Xuzhou

Frequent flooding of the Yellow River in Xuzhou constituted a serious threat to the north-south water transport in the mid-late Ming Dynasty.Therefore,the Government of Ming Dynasty decided to dig the new channel to avoid the flood caused by the Yellow River and achieve the transportation security.Of several newly dug rivers,the Jia River is the most important one which had significant impact on agriculture,the city status,the local economy and the social order of Xuzhou.To some extent,the digging of the Jia River became a turning point in the rise and fall of Xuzhou urban development in the Ming and Qing Dynasties.
