The Application of Image Segmentation in Biomedicine

Medical image segmentation is an important field in application of image segmentation,which can delineate anatomic structures or other interested regions automatically or semi-automatically for helping to the diagnosis,so it plays a crucial role in many medical imaging applications.This paper presents the new methods or improvement to the classical methods that are put forward recently;it focuses on the advantages and disadvantages of each method,promulgates the applicable range and key point of application,prospects the foreground and the challenge faced of medical image segmentation.
