| Abstract: | A tutorial account of the geometrical theory of diffraction is presented, and as an application of the theory the near field of a circular aperture antenna is calculated. This method is useful in calculating quite accurately the field in regions far from the antenna axis. The method finds appeal in its simple mathematical formulation which lends itself to obtaining numerical results with relative ease. |
