Abstract:A method for the NURBS curve fitting based on moving least-square method(MLS) is presented. It enhanced precision and smoothness of the fitting curve based on the traditional least-square method. The principles and characteristics of MLS are described in detail. With the point data of screw rotor as an example, the method is demonstrated by MATLAB and compared with the fitting curve based on the traditional least-square.
