Abstract:Objective To detect the content of lead, cadmium and chromium in star anise of Guangxi, and evaluate the dietary risk. Methods The samples were digested by microwave digestion instrument. Scandium, indium and bismuth were used as internal standard elements, the content of three heavy metals in the samples were determined simultaneously by inductively coupled plasma mass spectrometry (ICP-MS), the dietary risk of 3 kinds of heavy metals were evaluated by target hazard quotient/total target hazard quotient (THQ/TTHQ). R esults The correlation coefficients of the three heavy metals in the method were greater than 0.9995, and the recoveries were in the range of 92.5%~101.8%, showed that the experiment was accurate and reliable. The average content of lead, cadmium and chromium in 22 kinds of star anise samples were not high. The average content from high to low was lead (0.23 mg/kg)>chromium (0.13 mg/kg)>cadmium (0.012 mg/kg). The dispersion of the content range was large, and the coefficient of variation from high to low was lead (137.87%)>cadmium (91.27%)>chromium (83.50%), which may be related to the different content of heavy metals in the planting soil of different star anise samples., of which the average content of lead was the highest, which was 0.23 mg/kg,the maximum content of lead was 1.49 mg/kg, which was lower than the national limit standard. THQ and TTHQ of 22 kinds of star anise samples were less than 1. Conclusion The contents of lead in star anise samples were lower than the national limit standard. The 3 kinds of heavy metals in star anise samples have no obvious dietary risk.
