Abstract:Objective The difference of volatile components in Fritillaria from 13 different origins was compared, and a simple, rapid and accurate detection method was established to identify the characteristic fingerprints of Fritillaria from different origins. Methods Gas chromatography-ion mobility spectrometry (GC-IMS) was used to qualitative and relative quantitative analysis of the volatile components of 13 Fritillaria from different origins; and coupled with principal component analysis (PCA) to analyze the differences in volatile components. Results GC-IMS fingerprints show that there are significant differences in the volatile substances of Fritillaria from different origins. Forty-two volatile components were identified, including monomers and dimers and polymers of some substances. The unique volatile components in Wabu Fritillaria are methyl ethyl ketone, Pentanal, 2-heptanone, 2-Pentylfura, acetone, etc; In Taibai Fritillaria are gamma-Butyrolactone, 2,3-diethyl-6-methylpyrazine, 2,6-dimethylpyrazine; In Zhejiang Fritillaria are mainly aldehydes such as: phenylacetaldehyde, heptaldehyde, Octanal, Pentanal and Furfural; In Fritillaria pallidiflora Schrek are acetoin and 1-pentanol; n-Nonanal in Fritillaria Aba Songpan; Hexyl methyl ketone, n-hexanal, 3-methylbutanal and 1-hexanol in Litang Fritillaria; Guaiacol in Gansu Fritillaria; Ethanol in Tibet Fritillaria. Thirteen species of Fritillaria could be divided into 5 categories successful: Sichuan Fritillaria, Zhejiang Fritillaria, Fritillaria pallidiflora Schrek, Wabu Fritillaria and Taibai Fritillaria. Conclusion GC-IMS coupled with principal component analysis (PCA) methods proved that there are significant differences in the volatile components of Fritillaria from different origins, which provides a powerful tool for the research on quality control of Chinese medicinal materials and identification of origin.
