Abstract: | The effect of five mineral oils, two fats and creosote on the extraction—atomic absorption spectrophotometric determination of copper, iron, lead and manganese in water was investigated. Pure mineral oils, fats and creosote gave 100±15% recovery, but soluble oil gave low results for copper and iron. At a soluble oil concentration of 12.5 mg 1−1, the recoveries of copper and iron were, respectively 41 and 72%. |
