| Abstract: | With a consideration on the digital imaging and communications in medicine (DICOM), variations to the original maximum intensity projection (MIP) algorithm are described including basic principles, limitations, possible optimizations and enhancements. Some practical observations on the direction of further research on MIP algorithm are made. |
