Temperature dependence of surface tension of poly(vinyl chloride)

The thermal dependence of the surface tension of poly(vinyl chloride) (PVC) containing typical additives was determined below the glass transition temperature. From the results, the surface tension of PVC melts was evaluated and possible differences between the real value and estimate are discussed. It is suggested that the surface tension does not affect the wall-slipping properties of PVC melts.
