Abstract:4,5-Dicyanoimidazol-2-yl-pentazole is a novel energetic pentazole compound, and its synthesis was achieved using 2-amino-4,5-dicyanoimidazole as starting material. The structural proof for the pentazole ring system by 15N-NMR spectroscopy of 15N labeled samples was presented. Meanwhile, the decomposition of the title compound was confirmed.
