Abstract: | Argues that S. D. McLaughlin's (1980) comment on M. H. Birnbaum's (1979) article on sex bias in salaries of psychologists is not a definitive evaluation of either atheoretical or theoretical partialing. McLaughlin fails to support use of the partial correlation between sex and salary, with a measure of merit held constant, as the criterion of sex discrimination.
