基于居住建筑的地域、环境、功能及居住文化等方面的个性特色，光环境评价过程的复杂性和评判的模糊性，创造一种体现建筑个性特色，具有较好对比性分析的广义距离对比分析法。方法不仅能分析研究单个住宅光环境的质量和性能，而且可以对住宅群的光环境进行全面地对比分析和研究。课题研究的实践证明，方法能有效地克服其它评价方法存在的局限性，使居住建筑光环境的评价趋于科学合理。
