As the most powerful design innovator in the late 19th of Britain,Henry Cole organized London’s Crystal Palace Exhibition, established South Kensington Museum (the predecessor of the Victoria and Albert Museum in London), launched a movement on design, and built a new system on design education, all of which brought far-reaching influence on the field of design in Britain and around the whole world. The paper will review the history when Cole was in charge of museum art design education, trim his major actions during that period, and then present his profound and lasting influence on it.
