A Study on the Cultural Connotation of Chinese Traditional Pattern from the Perspective of Semiotics

Chinese traditional pattern is one kind of art form with formal and decorative aesthetic feeling, and at the same time it also is a symbol system containing a large amount of cultural information. With meaningful formal language, pattern becomes the means that people understand the objective world. From the perspective of Semiotics, this article elaborates the cultural connotation of Chinese traditional pattern, puts forward the analysis of pictorial symbols bearing the cultural value and significance is the important premise to realize the traditional pattern of inheritance and innovation.
