| Abstract: | Highly purified anhydrous magnesium chloride is an important raw material to prepare metallic magnesium. In this article, the key problems on the preparation of high purity anhydrous magnesium chloride from hydrated magnesium chloride were discussed. Besides, some new technologies applied in domestic and abroad was mentioned, including dehydration from hydrated magnesium chloride in chlorine atmosphere, double salts (e.g. carnallite) and ammonia method. |
