Modification of a Hilger E612 Raman Spectrometer to a Laser Excitation Source

SUMMARY

Since the advent of the continuous wave laser, it has been advantageous to employ lasers as excitation sources for Raman spectroscopy 1]. This communication reports details of an arrangement being used in our laboratory whereby a laser replaces the conventional mercury arc source with a Hilger E612 Raman Spectrometer.
