Abstract:A Computer-Aided Group Technology (G.T.) Fixture Design system (CAGFD) was developed based on the concept of fuzzy mathematics. The gradual character approach method was used to analyze common characteristics of similar parts and to assist the design of sophisticated G.T. fixtures. This paper addresses the issues of construction, functions and special characteristics of the proposed computer aided design system. Sample fixture design drawings for boring fixtures of bracket parts were provided as example.
