Abstract:Covered excavation,as a construction method,greatly helps improvement of ground traffic conditions in the city.In this paper,the Wusiguangchang Square Station constructed by top-down method with covered excavation,a metro station on M3 Line of Stage I of Qingdao Metro,was selected to study influences of the settlements of surrounding piles(wall) and column piles as well as the differential settlements under top-down construction conditions on the internal stress in the structures.The analytical results can serve as guidance in directing both optimal design and practical construction.
