| Abstract: | Mass customization requires rapid response capability of product development. The reuse of product information and design knowledge is becoming very imperative. This paper introduces the dependence of mass customization oriented product development on knowledge management system, the architecture of knowledge management system for mass customization oriented product development process. It describes the system function and the key technologies such as knowledge representation, knowledge acquisition, knowledge utilization and knowledge management, etc.. Knowledge management system provides a powerful support for mechanical product development to adapt to mass customization production. |
