一、初识提匣——从器皿到包装 提匣，又称提盒，为明清时期盛行的一种漆艺器皿，是各式制作考究的箱、匣、盒的统称，且提匣根据装载物品的不同还有不同的名称，如备具匣、骨牌匣等。提匣虽盛行于明清，其历史则可以追溯到唐宋，起初是文人雅士郊游时用于盛装雅具的器皿，因此又称“游山器”，在结构上主要分为装载物品的匣身与承托提携的提梁（又称捉手）两个部分；提匣由木艺或竹编制成，质地轻巧而坚实。
