Abstract:A broadband bipolar micro-base station antenna for LTE and 5G medium frequency is designed. The antenna consists of four main parts: the main radiator, the feed balun structure, the reflective surface and the square parasitic patch. The circular connecting strip on the radiation surface produces multiple current paths and introduces additional resonance points for impedance matching, while the square parasitic patch effectively extends the bandwidth of the high band. The measured results show that the antenna has an impedance bandwidth of 50% (2.2-3.65 GHz), the reflection coefficient is less than -15 dB, and the port isolation is greater than 28 dB. The average gain of the antenna in the frequency band is 8.2 dBi, the half-power beam width of the antenna E face is 65°±5° , and the cross-polarization ratio is greater than 26 dB. A quadratic antenna array is constructed using this antenna unit. The antenna and its array have the advantages of strong structure, high isolation, high gain and smaller physical size. It can be a good candidate for LTE/5G indoor base station antenna.
