| Abstract: | In this review a survey of scientific methods in aromatherpy is given.They are designed to enhance the knowledge about effects of fragrance compounds and essential oils and reaction of the human body upon treatment with these aroma chemicals.New results in physiological and pharmacological research as to the effects of fragrance compounds are described and discussed as well as some exemplary and interesting animal experiments and human health volunteers. The correct definition of the term aromatherapy is stressed. |
