Abstract:The node localization technology of wireless sensor networks(WSNs) is one of key issues.Received signal strength indicator (RSSI) technology is used widely in node localization,because it is not necessary to add any other equipments.In order to improve the positioning accuracy,a node localization algorithm based on particle swarm optimization (PSO) algorithm is proposed.Firstly,the algorithm measures the distance between the unknown node and neighboring anchor nodes using RSSI,and then uses PSO algorithm to localize the unknown node and gets the coordinates.Compared with genetic algorithm based localization and simulated annealing based localization,the simulation results show the proposed algorithm can effectively suppress the impact of ranging error accumulation,and improve the localization accuracy.
