欧洲巴洛克城市空间的源流与历史意义

巴洛克时期欧洲的城市空间类型发生了演变，广场成为独立的城市空间元素并被有意识地应用到城市规划中。在改造了中世纪遗留下来的欧洲传统城市之后，这种新类型的城市空间成为欧洲的三种传统城市空间之一。中国城市则没有相应的发展阶段，由于传统城市的建设思想、城市空间均不同，因此直接搬用国外规划理论已不可取，需要审视固有传统，寻求适合自己的理论。

Evolution and Significance of Baroque Urban Space in Europe

During baroque period, urban space in European cities greatly changed for square has become an independent element applied in city planning. Hence, such baroque urban space had been turned into one of the three traditional types of urban space in Europe after reconstructing those mediaeval cities. Comparing with European cities, Chinese cities never experienced such corresponding stage. Different building concept leads to different traditional urban space. So directly adopting European planning theories will be of no benefit to us. We need to examine the deeply rooted tradition and seek for our own planning theory.
