Optimization of a finite dipole array with genetic algorithm including mutual coupling effects

In this article, the genetic algorithm together with a circuit model is applied to optimize the gain of a dipole array by adjusting the dipole element positions. This algorithm can optimize problems globally without any gradient calculations and is especially suitable for large antenna array design. © 2000 John Wiley & Sons, Inc.
