| Abstract: | The current status of Russia's telecom infrastructure does not correspond to the country's increasing demands. The creation of a commercial digital overlay network is apparently the only possible solution to modern telecom services provisioning. This article describes the main specific features of the existing telecom networks in Russia, and provides analysis of the telecom statistics and forecasting of the main characteristics and the future scenarios of the evolving telecom system. |
