A novel fault tolerant token ring network

Token Ring Networks have gained popularity due to their simplicity and ease of maintenance. However, the functioning of the entire network is dependent on the well being of an entity called “token”. The network ceases to function if the token is lost. There are algorithms suggested for improving the fault tolerant capabilities of the network with respect to the token.This paper proposes an algorithm to achieve fault tolerance. The algorithm is implemented on a simulated token ring network.
